Vaasa, Finland, has appointed Lars Hellberg as group vice-president, head of engine division, and member of the board of management. Hellberg joins Wärtsilä from Saab Automobile AB, and previously had a long career with Volvo in Sweden and the Netherlands.

Houston, has appointed Robert A. Prichard as vice-president of global operations. Prichard, with 20 years of experience, previously held senior management positions with the Houston Community College system, TXU Communications Inc., Epoch Internet, ICG Telecom Inc., and Fishel Technologies. He most recently had served as CapRock's director of North American operations.
