Royal Dutch Petroleum Co. has recommended that its shareholders later this month elect Linda Zarda Cook as managing director, effective Aug. 1.

Subsequently, she will be appointed a director of the Shell Petroleum NV board and a managing director of Shell Petroleum Co. Ltd., thereby becoming a group managing director of Royal Dutch/Shell Group.

Previously, Cook was Shell Canada Ltd. president and CEO. Before that, she was chief executive of Shell's global gas and power business (OGJ, Feb. 10, 2003, p. 30).

Clive Mather, chairman of Shell UK Ltd., previously was appointed to succeed Cook as Shell Canada's president and CEO, effective next month.

Mather joined Shell in 1969, and he has held numerous international assignments.

Anadarko Petroleum Corp. has named Robert P. Daniels and Mark L. Pease as senior vice-presidents, exploration and production, to oversee worldwide activities.

Daniels, currently vice-president, Canada, will oversee Anadarko's international and growth assets and will relocate to Houston. He will be succeeded by Michael O. Bridges, currently chief engineer.

Pease, currently vice-president, US onshore and offshore, will be responsible for the company's North American foundation assets.

ConocoPhillips named Sig Cornelius president of its global gas organization, a new division of its exploration and production segment.

Previously, Cornelius was ConocoPhillips' president of US Lower 48, Latin America, and midstream.

Unocal Corp. will implement a series of management changes, effective July 1.

Randy Howard will become senior vice-president, global gas. Howard has been the company's vice-president, international energy operations, Myanmar, Thailand, and Viet Nam, since 1999. He also was president of Unocal Thailand Ltd. until earlier this year.

Steve Green, currently vice-president, international energy operations, will succeed Howard as senior vice-president, international energy operations.

Don Hansen will succeed Green. He is currently president and CEO of Northrock Resources Ltd., a wholly owned Unocal subsidiary.

Dave Pearce will take over from Hanson as president of Northrock. Currently, Pearce is Northrock senior vice-president, exploration and production, and chief operating officer.

Robert F. Heinemann, current chairman of the board, Berry Petroleum Co., Bakersfield, Ca., was named interim president and CEO.

Berry is searching for a successor for Jerry V. Hoffman, who is retiring as president and CEO.

Tulsa-based Latigo Petroleum Inc. has promoted some key members of its management team.

Rodney S. Myers was promoted to chief operating officer and remains a vice-president. Oran Hall was promoted to vice-president, operations.

Patrick Curth was promoted to vice-president, exploration. Mike Evans was promoted to exploration manager, Tulsa district. Tony Swindell was promoted to operations manager, Tulsa district. Paula Masefield was promoted to accounting manager.

Bruce Woodard joined Latigo as operations manager, Midland district.

The Texas Alliance of Energy Producers elected Hollis R. Sullivan of Wichita Falls, Tex., as chairman of the oil and gas association. He succeeds Roy Pitcock Jr., who completed his 2-year term.
