Houston, has named Dalton L. Thomas as vice-president of operations support.

Cooper Cameron Corp.

Houston, has named Dalton L. Thomas as vice-president of operations support. He previously was with the Cameron division of Cooper Cameron, and will now serve as an internal consultant to Cooper Cameron's divisions in the areas of product and project delivery, capacity utilization, manufacturing cost structures, global supply chain management, and Six Sigma.

Cooper Cameron Corp. is a leading international manufacturer of oil and gas pressure control equipment, including valves, wellheads, controls, chokes, blowout preventers, and assembled systems for oil and gas drilling, production, and transmission in onshore, offshore, and subsea applications. The company also manufactures centrifugal air compressors, integral and separable reciprocating gas engines, compressors, and turbochargers.

Lafayette, La., has named H.A. Hoss Smith as midwestern region sales representative, and Conrad Lee as southwestern region sales representative.

Expro International Group PLC

Reading, UK, has appointed Michael James Speakman as group finance director. Speakman has a BS in engineering, and has held various financial roles since 1991.

Expro also has recently announced two technical acquisitions. The group acquired a wireless technology product and capability from Flight Refuelling Ltd. The business developed a cableless telemetry system that is capable of transmitting data electromagnetically from downhole depths in excess of 10,000 ft, and is particularly suitable for brownfield applications. The acquisition provides Expro with 11 specialist development engineers with expertise in wireless data transmission.

Expro also acquired the well tractoring assets and technology of Houston-based Smartract Inc. The technology is represented by a hydraulically activated tractor system that is used in conjunction with wireline to deploy data gathering and other tooling in horizontal and high-deviation wells.

Expro International Group PLC is a leading international oil field service provider of products and services for completion and management of oil and gas wells. Their products and services are packaged in three business segments: cased hole services, subsurface systems, and surface and environmental systems.

P2 Energy Solutions Inc.

Houston, has merged Tobin International Inc. into its operations, creating the oil and gas industry's largest provider of enterprise software and services, mapping data, and storage systems.

Tobin International provides geo-business information systems.

P2 Energy Solutions Inc., a subsidiary of Petroleum Place, offers scalable, integrated back-office applications.

UWG Ltd.

Norwich, UK, has appointed Chris Bird as subsea business manager. Bird has over 17 years of oil industry experience, most recently working for Aker Kvaerner. He holds an MS degree in engineering.

UWG Ltd. is part of UWG Group's Wells Div. UWG Group provides project management, engineering design, equipment, and service personnel in the areas of risers, wells, and foundations. UWG Group engineers complete mudline-to-facility interface solutions for all water depths and field applications.

Producers Assistance Corp.

Houston, has announced the appointment of Larry A. Froman as business development specialist. Froman holds a BBA degree in marketing from Stephen F. Austin University. He has worked for Wilson Supply Co., Mid-Continent Supply, Dresser Valve Co., and most recently as US sales representative for Galperti Engineering.

Producers Assistance Corp. offers an array of services, including staffing for critical positions, and innovative software systems, for offshore Gulf of Mexico and land-based hydrocarbon production operations.

Samsung Fine Chemicals and SigmaKalon

Seoul and Amsterdam, respectively, have announced that their Korean coatings operations have been combined into a joint venture company known as Sigma Samsung Coatings. Under the agreement, each group will continue to serve their separate customer bases, but facilities for manufacturing and technical support are combined.

The coatings activity of Samsung Fine Chemicals has a production facility in Ulsan, Korea.

SigmaKalon is a global provider of decorative, marine, protective, and industrial coatings. Its marine coatings business ranks fourth largest global producer.
