It features a series of finger mechanisms mounted on two counterrotating shafts. Positioned above the pump's auger feed, this "bridge breaker" device prevents the accumulation of material in the throat of the pump.

Flow rates to 400 gpm and pressure capabilities to 350 psi are offered in the new pump.

The bridge breaker is driven by the pump's motor, thus eliminating the necessity for an additional power supply.

The G3 features Moyno's crown gear-type universal joint.

It is capable of accommodating high torsional and thrust loads. Patented joint seals protect the gear joints.

The pump also:

  • Passes particles up to 1.5 in. in diameter.
  • Promises abrasion resistance.
  • Offers high volumetric and mechanical efficiencies.
  • Handles fluid viscosities up to 1,000,000 cps unassisted.

Data integration for upstream firms

Wellsite information transfer mark-up language (WITSML) data integration for upstream oil and gas companies now is available.

This firm's Enterprise Enabler takes the input or output from WITSML applications and easily transforms and integrates the data into Oracle, SAP, or other enterprise systems as well as other upstream applications, whether or not they support WITSML.

WITSML allows companies to gather and transmit data from the myriad of niche applications that drive and monitor each operational and production function.

Enterprise Enabler operates transparently to the user and requires no programming.

Users can create point-and-click interfaces to any of their WITSML or niche applications, and the data are integrated smoothly, the firm says. Software companies that market to the upstream industry can use Enterprise Enabler to adapt their products quickly to the WITSML standard, too.

Enterprise Enabler offers customers an easy mechanism for moving quickly to WITSML integration, the company notes.

Once Enterprise Enabler is implemented, WITSML data are available immediately and as the standard becomes complete, any changes will be quickly adapted into the system, the firm points out.

New gas flowmeter

Capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 500° F., the new thermal mass FlexMASSter ST98 flowmeter series promises precision gas flow measurement, while offering repeatability and reliability.

It supports a range of applications in chemical plant operations and other high temperature processes. With its precision thermal mass flow sensing element and advanced flex circuitry design, the new ST98 combines high performance with ease of installation and low maintenance to reduce instrument total life cycle costs.

Its thermal mass sensing element delivers precision measurement over a wide flow range, the company says. It features an accuracy of ±1% of reading plus ±0.5% of full scale. It has a repeatability of ±0.5% of reading and features a flow range of 2-3,183 scfm in air at standard conditions for 70° F. and 14.7 psia, typical to most gases.

The thermal mass sensing element consists of two all-welded 316L stainless steel thermowells that protect two matched platinum precision resistance temperature detectors (RTDs). With a reliable no-moving parts design, one RTD is heated relative to the reference RTD, and the temperature difference between the two is related to the process gas mass flow rate.

Its transmitter converts differential temperature to a standard 4-20 ma output signal that has been linearized during the company's NIST traceable calibration of the flow element. The transmitter with its RS232 communications port is housed in a NEMA Type 4, Type 4X, or explosionproof enclosure and can be integrally mounted to the flow element or remotely mounted up to 500 ft away. In addition, HART bus communications and an LCD display screen indicating flow rate and totalized flow are available as options.

The ST98 meets ASME, BPE, Cenelec, and CE Mark requirements. Factory Mutual, CSA, and CRN approvals are pending.
