Gas Technology Products LLC (GTP), Schaumburg, Ill., has announced a joint venture with Technip KTI SpA, Rome, whereby KTI will serve as exclusive representative in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for the GTP Lo-Cat hydrogen sulfide removal process, and will perform engineering and construction on units sold in those regions.

Schaumburg, Ill., has announced a joint venture with Technip KTI SpA, Rome, whereby KTI will serve as exclusive representative in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa for the GTP Lo-Cat hydrogen sulfide removal process, and will perform engineering and construction on units sold in those regions. The combined effort will provide a new approach to the sulfur recovery market, especially in areas of tail gas cleanup, and debottlenecking of existing Claus units.

Technip KTI SpA is a wholly owned company of Technip Italy, part of Technip-Coflexip Group. It is a leader in the contracting industry, and has over 30 years of experience in process plants for the oil, gas, and petrochemical industry.

Gas Technology Products LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary of Merichem Chemicals & Refinery Services LLC, and has more than 25 years of H2S removal experience.

International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC)

Houston, has appointed Dominic Cattini as director of its European operations. Based in London, Cattini is responsible for representation of IADC membership interests before governmental regulatory bodies, quasi government groups, and support for regional chapters in Europe.

Cattini holds engineering and mathematics degrees from St. Aloysius College, London; City University, London; and diplomas from Southwark College, and Technical University of Delft, The Netherlands. He most recently served as head of strategic policy and advice for the state supervision of mines in The Netherlands.

IADC was founded in 1940 to secure responsible standards, practices, legislation, and regulations providing for safe, efficient, and environmentally sound drilling operations worldwide.

National Oilwell Inc.

Houston, has announced the purchase of Hal Oilfield Pump & Equipment Co. (Halco) Halco specializes in the design, manufacture, and distribution of centrifugal pumps, pump packages, and related products.

National Oilwell Inc. designs, manufactures, and sells comprehensive systems and components for oil and gas drilling and production.

Stratos Broadband Networks

Lafayette, La., has announced the addition of Peter Malcolm as senior project engineer, and Edward Robinson as project engineer.

Malcolm earned a bachelor's degree in general studies from the University of Maryland, and served in the US Army where he operated earth station systems in the US Defense Satellite Communications Subsystem.

Robinson received a master's degree in electrical engineering from Texas Tech University, and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, Houston.

Stupp Bros. Inc.

Baton Rouge, La., has announced that John P. Stupp Jr., executive vice-president/COO of Stupp Bros. Inc. and CEO of Stupp Corp., will assume the additional role of president of Stupp Corp.

Stupp Corp., founded in 1952, manufactures custom line pipe to transport oil and natural gas. Stupp Bros. Inc. was founded in 1856 in St. Louis, Mo.

Weatherford International Ltd.

Houston, has announced the appointment of Lev Ring as director of solid expandables technology, and Pat York as vice-president, sales and marketing, for Weatherford's solid expandables business. Both had previously been with Enventure.

Ring holds an MS in applied physics from the Institute of Physics & Technology, Dept. of Physics & Space Research, Moscow, and a PhD in physics and mathematics from the Institute for Problems in Mechanics, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow.

York earned a BS in electrical engineering from Northwestern State University, and pursued an MBA in economics and management.
