OpenInvoice Image expands the capability of this software solutions company's OpenInvoice technology.

Program converts paper invoices to electronic format

OpenInvoice Image expands the capability of this software solutions company's OpenInvoice technology.

The firm's OpenInvoice Professional product automates the process of invoice generation, receipt, adjudication, and approval and streamlines traditional labor-intensive paper-based work flow processes.

In addition, detailed spending data acquired through the invoice process can be analyzed to identify inefficiencies and enable improved operational performance.

OpenInvoice Image, an add-on module, enables the operating company to use the OpenInvoice work flow engine—even for those invoices that are still submitted manually.

By converting the paper invoice to a digital image through the OpenInvoice Image module, the same processing, routing, and approval work flows that OpenInvoice Professional users have for processing electronic invoices are now available for paper invoices as well. In addition, cost categorization can be applied to the paper invoices, allowing an operating company immediately to analyze 100% of their spending.

Using OpenInvoice Image, users now have a single method for processing all incoming invoices, whether paper or electronic.

This provides a seamless transition as suppliers and operators move from paper-based invoicing to electronic invoicing.

Paper invoices and field tickets are scanned and converted to digital invoices before being routed to specific company departments or individuals.

After coding and approval, the invoice information is uploaded directly into the operating company's financial system for settlement.

New clear water drilling fluid clay-free

Baroid CRYSTAL-DRIL clear water drilling fluid is a new clay-free system designed to inhibit reactive bentonitic shales, eliminate bit balling, and enhance penetration rates.

A CRYSTAL-DRIL system can be formulated with fresh water, brine, or produced water.

On the wells drilled using the product, the CRYSTAL-DRIL system consistently has decreased drilling days and provided a gauge hole, helping to lower operational costs, the firm points out.

The company says that two operators have reported an average reduction of 20% in open hole logging costs, especially in coalbed methane wells, due to better wellbore stability.

In addition, cementing costs dropped by 15% for one operator due to the gauge hole typically produced by drilling with the CRYSTAL-DRIL system.

Fine solids settle rapidly because of the system's increased flocculation strength, helping to maintain low fluid densities and high performance drilling conditions.

Diesel fuel analyzer line expanded

The CFR (cooperative fuel research) product line has been expanded with the introduction of a fuel ignition tester (FIT) instrument used to determine the ignition delay and derived cetane number of diesel fuel quickly.

The CFR line is suited for refinery use, and the company says it also has applications in smaller lab environments such as at state regulatory agencies.

Using an advanced constant volume combustion chamber equipped with sensors that collect data during the ignition and combustion phase, the FIT is designed and optimized to simulate the conditions of the combustion process of a diesel engine. The instrument's electronics and process control software enables automatic operation to determine the cetane number with accuracy and repeatability, the firm says.

Lightweight cement system for coalbed methane wells

New LiteCRETE CBM system helps cement coalbed methane wells.

The lightweight, high performance cementing system provides production-quality cement properties and prevents loss circulation in coal seams during cementing operations.

LiteCRETE CBM exerts lower pressure on the coalbed—preventing breakdown. It also prevents flow into fractures and fissures because it contains special fibers that bridge against these openings and prevent slurry losses.
