This new self-contained rod pump controller uses advanced load and position technology.

Because of its wireless design, the controller is able to eliminate maintenance costs associated with cables to the load cell and position sensor, the company points out.

Radio technology that is imbedded is used to control the well and relay operational data to a host-based software system for remote monitoring and detailed analysis. The radio also provides data to a hand held device for operators to use while visiting the well site.

The controller uses advanced strain gauge technology for load measurement and accelerometer technology for measuring pump position together as the most effective way to control rod pumped wells.

The controller creates a dynamometer card that is used to identify pump off conditions and other potential problems that can occur in a well. The firm says its control algorithm has been proved on more than 25,000 wells worldwide.

Software designed to restore oil company data instantly

InaQuick Rescue (IQR) Enterprise Suite is a set of software products that's designed to restore data, applications, and operating systems instantly on laptop and desktop computers without having to rely on backups, data duplication, or images.

It allows oil and gas companies to capture cost saving advantages while simultaneously protecting valuable data. IQR, from Inasoft Inc., Carlsbad, Calif., promises to reduce the cost of PC support, provide near 100% system availability, and decrease the total cost of ownership for enterprise PCs immediately.

IQR recovers the contents of an entire hard drive within seconds. It features near 0% data loss, and the software utilizes less than 0.042% of hard drive space without relying on a .log file that could be inadvertently deleted or corrupted.

Users can recover a system immediately even if it has been reformatted, repartitioned, or had an F-disk operation run on it.

IQR recovers a system to a preselected point called an IQR checkpoint. IQR is based on patent-pending technology that allows a user or support engineer to restore a system to any one of 10 check-point configurations in seconds, without backing up or carrying a duplicate image on the hard drive.

This provides continual recovery management and new systems availability options that will help improve desktop support economics and maintain a continuous stream of productivity, the company notes.

Free literature on new wear-resistant cutters

Product literature on wear-resistant TReX cutters is available free upon request.

The cutters promise improved durability and rate of penetration.

Cutter technology features an ultrawear-resistant, thermostable cutting face. The firm says field tests have confirmed ROP increases of more than 30%, with footage increases of more than 30% compared with the same bit types without TReX cutters. That higher ROP is due in part to the ultrawear-resistant, thermostable layer, which forms a distinct lip as the cutter wears, the company points out.

The new literature features product specifications as well as case study summaries.

New product predicts field production capacity

ReO Forecast is a new product that predicts the production capacity of a field using an integrated model of subsurface, wells, and surface facilities.

It is designed to be used throughout all phases of field development, from initial evaluation and screening studies where production profiles over the entire field life need to be generated to the shorter range forecasts necessary for planning in more mature developments.

It delivers profiles that are optimized at each time step making maximum use of all available resources. The product also extends the level of integration of detail in surface facilities that can be included in such forecasts. Extensive capabilities have been included to handle gas contracts.

The company says ReO Forecast was instrumental in assisting in the development planning of gas resources located off Southeast Sumatra.

ReO Forecast integrates reservoir data, material balance, well performance, surface pipeline configuration, and facilities in a single model, which optimizes the system to meet contractual gas sales targets, fuel gas requirements, and other constraints over a proposed 11 year production period.
