Bolt tensioner provides tight joints

The new Hytorc-Disc stops bolt turning and twisting when placed underneath a regular nut and held stationary by the click-on bolting machine.

The Hytorc-Disc is of same size as the regular hex nut. An inner thread segment is connected with the bolt thread. Upon turning the nut, the thread segment moves upwards only with the straight axial bolt elongation in the inside of the Disc. The tool also helps prevent joint face frictions by letting the nut above turn on the smooth surface of the Disc, instead of turning on an uneven flange surface.

The nut is dry-lubed to avoid sporadic lubrication to even out thread friction. The nut turns at a known bearing face friction on the Disc. Bolt torsion, side-load, reaction arms, and backup wrenches are eliminated. The use of sockets helps reduce setup time.

Free thermometer catalog

A new industrial thermometers catalog is available free for the asking.

The catalog introduces a new line of Sky Blue economy industrial thermometers that are mercury-free and environmentally safe with lead free glass in 31/2 and 6 in. stem lengths in temperature ranges up to 300° F. (149° C.).

In addition, the company offers a range of red reading mercury-filled economy industrials with stem lengths to 12 in. and a full selection for Fahrenheit or dual temperature ranges. The company says all of its economy industrial thermometers are easy to read and offer flex angle adjustment, allowing for virtually any required viewing angle.

Also featured are classic industrial thermometers that are designed and constructed for long-term industrial process service. Many of these are also available in nonmercury, or red spirit fill.

In addition, for users of thermometers designed for the specialized task of air or gas temperature measurement, this catalog presents air duct thermometers for maximum sensitivity to change provided by the perforated stem design and protected thermometer bulb. Narrow case industrial thermometers for water lines and air ducts offer the same high quality materials with space-saving size, the catalog says.

Tank level gauging system

This firm now offers the B/W Controls DataStik level sensor—a battery-powered, wireless continuous tank level gauging system for high-resolution inventory monitoring applications.

Designed to replace manual measurement, the Series 7243 DataStik is suited for supply chain management, vendor managed inventory systems, and inventory monitoring applications. The system combines this firm's magnetostrictive position sensing technology with Innovative Sensor Solution Ltd.'s patented wireless telemetry technology. The DataStik system is especially suited for liquid storage tanks that are isolated, contain explosive materials, or are located in hazardous environments.

The Series 7243 DataStik, with its intrinsically safe wireless operation and low-power requirements, helps reduce the cost of installation, the company notes. It provides product level, interface level, and five temperature outputs.

The level sensor design eliminates the need for a bulky electronics enclosure at the top of the sensor, provides 0.1% accuracy over a 50 ft measuring span, and offers a number of options for insertion and mounting on tanks or inside vessels.

The DC-TX S1 RF transmitter from Innovative Sensor Solutions features reliable 900 mhz operation, diverse antenna for enhanced reception, and a single receiver for more than 100 transmitters. Data can be transmitted as far as 1.5 miles and accessed via RS485 Modbus or through several Scada options.

Pressure calibrator is portable, bench-mountable

The new PC6-B pressure calibrator is portable and bench-mountable.

It tests and calibrates accurately these instruments: pressure transducers-transmitters, pressure switches-relief valves, pressure indicators (analog-digital), process indicators, and pressure converters.

The modular design allows each user to optimize the calibrator for a particular use. The company says you can set it up with minimal functions if a simple instrument is required (i.e., calibrating a basic pressure indicator), or use external pressure modules or digital pressure modules to accommodate a variety of pressure ranges.

Optional Windows-based SiCal software permits remote control operation and data transfer into other applications. Calibration data can be logged, viewed, and printed in graphical format or on a calibration certificate.
