Canyon Offshore Inc. Houston, has appointed Kevin Brennan as technical manager for the Americas region. Brennan has over two decades of experience in remotely operated vehicle (ROV) intervention, and has held engineering and senior project management positions with a number of firms.

Canyon Offshore Inc., a member of the Cal Dive group of companies, is headquartered in Houston, with offices in Aberdeen and Singapore, and a base in Viet Nam. The company provides ROVSV / construction vessel and ROV services to support offshore construction, drilling support, survey, engineering, inspection, backhaul repair and maintenance, as well as flowline and umbilical trenching services in depths to 2,500 meters.

Chicago Bridge & Iron Co. (CB&I)

The Woodlands, Tex., has acquired the US engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) business of Petrofac Inc., the US subsidiary of Petrofac Ltd. Petrofac Inc., based in Tyler, Tex., has more than 20 years of worldwide experience in executing turnkey projects for oil refining, oil production, gas treating, and petrochemical industries. Its core competencies include conceptual design, process engineering, procurement and logistics, modular design and fabrication, construction and commissioning, and project management.

Petrofac's US EPC operations will be fully integrated into CB&I's Process and Technology group (Howe-Baker).

CB&I is a global specialty engineering, procurement, and construction company, serving customers in several markets, including hydrocarbon refining, natural gas, water, and the energy sector in general. Projects include hydrocarbon processing plants, LNG terminals and peak shaving plants, bulk liquid terminals, water storage and treatment facilities, and other steel structures and their associated systems.

Enerflex Systems Ltd.

Calgary, has appointed its chairman, John Aldred, to the additional roles of president and CEO, upon the resignation of Malcolm Cox. The company will recruit a chief operating officer to oversee day-to-day business activities.

Enerflex Systems Ltd. is a leading supplier of products and services to the global oil and gas production industry, with core expertise lying between the wellhead and the pipeline. The company operates in Canada, the US, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Indonesia, Pakistan, and the UAE.

Fusion Petroleum Technologies Inc.

The Woodlands, Tex., has announced that Lih Kuo has joined the company as vice-president of seismic analysis. Kuo was previously with ARCO.

Grant Prideco Inc.

Houston, has elected four new directors and appointed Michael McShane as chairman of the board. McShane will retain positions of president and chief executive officer.

The new board members are Dennis R. Hendrix, formerly chairman of PanEnergy Corp.; Harold E. Layman, formerly president and CEO of Blount International Inc.; Joseph E. Reid, an oil and gas consultant and previously president and CEO of Oil Inc. and of Superior Oil Co.; and David A. Trice, currently president, CEO, and director of Newfield Exploration Co.

Wood Group PLC

Aberdeen, has named Joseph F. Brady as chairman, president, and chief executive officer of Wood Group ESP, based in Oklahoma City. Formerly president of Centrilift, a Baker Hughes company, Brady spent 13 years of his 20-year career with Centrilift. He earned a BS in mechanical engineering from General Motors Institute, and an MBA in human resources from Michigan State University.

In other announcements, Wood Group ESP has established Wood Group de Ecuador SA to provide electric submersible and surface pumps, and pump-related services to the Ecuadorian oil industry. Daniel Fleitas has been appointed country manager for Ecuador to lead operations. Fleitas joined Wood Group ESP in Venezuela, and has served as Latin America area manager and business development manager for Latin America. He earned a BS in mechanical and electrical engineering from the National Technological University in Mendoza, Argentina, and is currently pursuing an MBA at the University of Oklahoma.

Wood Group PLC has launched a new Consulting Technical Services Group within its Engineering & Production Facilities Division, under the leadership of Steve Wayman, CEO. The new group will comprise J P Kenny (subsea and pipelines), Frontier Engineering Solutions (front end and field development), and Ionik Consulting (materials and integrity).
