Market MovementGasoline futures price hits 100-day highGasoline futures prices hit a 100-day high on the New York Mercantile Exchange in the middle of last week, propelled by refinery problems in Texas and California and by fears that Tropical Storm Claudette might strike the US Gulf Coast as a possible hurricane some time this week.Following consecutive gains in the three previous sessions, NYMEX's August contract for unleaded gasoline shot up 3.55¢ to 94.01¢/gal on July 9—the highest closing for a near-month gasoline contract since Mar. 31.
