Its approval for use with natural gas was designed as an option to deliver safe, reliable high performance for applications using sweet natural gas in hazardous environments.

Advanced circuitry includes electronic feedback control for vibration protection and accurate output. In addition to accuracy of 0.10%, the transducer also delivers low hysteresis and excellent repeatability, the firm says.

This unit is suited for gas gathering stations, compressor stations, pipeline feed, and booster stations that are in remote locations and often do not have access to compressed plant air for operation of pneumatic valve actuators.

Tool analyzes reservoir fluid properties

MRILab, now available to the industry, is a logging tool with the ability to analyze reservoir fluid properties, including fluid type, viscosity, and gas-to-oil ratio—in real time at reservoir temperature and pressure.

It has the capability of analyzing reservoir fluid samples in wells using oil-based mud systems to determine mud filtrate contamination and necessary pumping time. The real time, in situ measurements promise accurate reservoir information, better economic decisions, and reduced rig costs, the company notes.

The logging device operates as an integral component of the Reservoir Description Tool, making laboratory quality measurements on reservoir fluids that are necessary for reservoir engineering and completion design. It allows the properties of hydrocarbons to be available immediately in real time. The downhole measurements are accurate as a result of being at reservoir temperature and pressure, eliminating the need to reconstruct downhole conditions in the laboratory environment, the company points out.

On a recent project in Indonesia, MRILab allowed the operator to eliminate the need for retrieving samples for identifying production fluid type. MRILab downhole fluid typing was accomplished on an average of 20 min for each zone, the firm says.

Designed to accommodate four 55-gal drums, the unit features a two way entry system. To access drum tops, the ergonomically friendly, roll-top cover can be easily lifted from waist height. To load or unload drums, swing-out doors provide safety and convenience.

The lockable, two way entry system is located on two opposite sides of the unit, allowing quick access to all four drums. Tall, inner head space allows drum pumps and conical funnels to be left in place when the unit is closed.

A low profile (8.75 in.) containment pallet positions drum-top funnels at a safe, convenient level to pour hazardous wastes.

Units are made of polyethylene. An optional loading ramp stores inside the unit when not in use.

Random packing helps boost mass transfer efficiency

AMISTCO metal tower packing (AMTP) is designed to lower pressure drop and increase efficiency and capacity.

The high performance random packing is available in all sizes in metal and alloy materials. High strength, low weight geometry allows for greater bed depths, the company notes. The AMTP open, low drag configuration reduces pressure drop yet provides plenty of surface area for effective liquid contacting.

The maker says the design and configuration of AMTP helps ensure random packing bed and thus excellent liquid distribution and optimum efficiency over a wide turndown ratio.

Packing is suited for applications with foaming tendencies and has proved effective in a range of distillation applications including monomer purification, vacuum crude stills, cryogenic fractionations, heavy water upgrading, olefins, and isomer separations.
