ConocoPhillips announces senior management changes

ConocoPhillips Pres. and CEO Jim Mulva has asked Joseph High, vice-president, human resources, to take a special assignment working on several strategic initiatives.

Tom Knudson, senior vice-president, government affairs and communications, will assume the additional responsibility for human resources and become senior vice-president, human resources, government affairs, and communications. Knudson will continue reporting directly to Mulva.

In other news, ConocoPhillips announced numerous moves within the company's exploration and production segment.

Sigmund L. Cornelius, vice-president, upstream business development, will become president, US Lower 48, Latin America, and midstream.

Dodd W. DeCamp, vice-president, worldwide exploration, will become president, Middle East, Russia, and the Caspian region.

Jim R. Knudsen, vice-president, upstream technology, will become president, ConocoPhillips China.

Joe A. Leone, vice-president, Greater Kuparuk area and Cook Inlet, ConocoPhillips Alaska, will become vice-president, upstream technology.

Jim D. McColgin, president, US Lower 48 and Latin America, will become vice-president, exploration and business development.

Henry I. McGee, president, Middle East and Africa, will become president, Europe and Africa.

Steve M. Theede, president, Europe, Russia, and the Caspian Region, has elected to retire after 30 years of service.

Cornelius, DeCamp, Leone, McColgin, and McGee, will report to Bill Berry, executive vice president, E&P.

Elsewhere in upstream personnel news, Steve Thornton has joined Vanco Energy Co., Houston, as its international affiliates manager and Ivory Coast asset manager. He will direct Vanco's exploration program off the Ivory Coast. Thornton has nearly 30 years' experience in oil and gas exploration, development, and production.

The Canadian Energy Pipeline Association (CEPA) announced its new chairman is Ron Turner, TransCanada PipeLines Ltd. executive vice-president of gas transmission.

He takes over as the Calgary-based CEPA chair from Richard Bird, Enbridge Inc. transportation north group vice-president.

Canadian Oil Sands Trust, Calgary, appointed Allen Hagerman chief financial officer of its wholly owned subsidiary, Canadian Oil Sands Ltd., which manages the trust.

Hagerman has more than 25 years of experience in the financial management of energy companies.
