Emerson Process Management, Rosemount Analytical

Irvine, Calif., has named Kenneth A. Biele as president of its Liquid Division. Biele has over 15 years of experience with process control and the process industries. Most recently, he served as vice-president and general manager of Rosemount Measurement Division in Chanhassen, Minn.

Emerson Process Management, an Emerson business, is a leading provider of automation solutions for production, processing, and distribution in the chemical, oil and gas, refining, and other industries.

Rosemount Analytical is a division of Emerson. It's Liquid Division, based in Irvine, Calif., designs and manufactures analyzers, transmitters, and sensors for the on-line measurement of pH, ORP, conductivity, dissolved oxygen, chlorine, ozone, and turbidity.

Fusion Geophysical LLC

Norman, Okla., has announced that Marianne Rauch-Davies has joined the company as general manager of seismic imaging. Rauch-Davies formerly was with Companie General de Geophysique, and has a broad range of domestic and international operational experience in the geophysical service industry.

Fusion Geophysical LLC is a high-end geoscience and engineering technology and services company, founded in 2000. Services include seismic survey design, seismic imaging, geopressure prediction, seismic analysis, integrated interpretation, reservoir studies, and contract research and development.

Jones Day LLC

Washington, has added three transactional lawyers to its energy practice.

Vladimir Lechtman has rejoined Jones Day as a partner in the Washington office. His work will focus on cross border mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets transactions. Lechtman, a native speaker of Russian, will also coordinate Jones Day's practice in Russia and other countries of the former Soviet Union.

Bruce Schulberg, who has practiced in New York, Singapore, Beijing, and Hong Kong, and is fluent in Mandarin, is now a partner in Jones Day's Singapore office. He responsibilities encompass expanding the firm's project development and finance practice in Asia.

Patrick Coughlin, who has concentrated on Alaskan oil and gas issues for over a decade, has joined Jones Day's Houston office.

Jones Day is an international law firm with 25 locations and more than 1,400 lawyers.

LaBarge Pipe & Steel Co.

Houston, has named Mark Stavinoha as vice-president of district sales. Stavinoha earned his degree in engineering technology from Texas A&M University, and has almost 25 years of industry experience, most of which has been with American Steel Pipe Div. of American Cast Iron Pipe Co.

LaBarge Pipe & Steel is a leading stocking distributor of steel pipe. It also custom rolls and welds pipe at its mill in Wagoner, Okla. The company is headquartered in St. Louis, and has four district sales offices, over which Stavinoha will be responsible.

OPS Group Ltd.

Aberdeen, is the new name for OPS North Sea Ltd., a provider of specialist personnel to the international oil and gas industry. Additionally, the company has named Cerys Johns to the newly created post of head of marketing and media relations. Johns holds an HND degree in advertising, marketing, and public relations from Aberdeen College.

Founded in the UK in 1988, OPS Group Ltd. operates four divisions: Oilfield Production Support, Coiltec, TecSupport, and Maslow Recruitment; and provides personnel for clients operating in every oil and gas producing region of the world.

Paradigm

London, has announced the appointment of Elie Barr as president and chief operating officer. Barr has served as a director of Paradigm and as chairman of its audit committee for the past seven years. His diversified career has included the management of large technology-based governmental agencies, as well as significant diplomatic experience. Barr holds a BA in economics, political science, and philosophy, and is a graduate of the Insead Executive Program.

Paradigm provides advanced petroleum geoscience and drilling technology to the oil and gas E&P industry. The company has 22 offices in 19 countries, serving all major oil and gas producing provinces in the world.

Petroleum Place Energy Advisors

Houston, has appointed Christopher J. Simon as vice-president of transaction services. Simon has 20 years of upstream oil and gas experience, most recently with Grey Horse Energy Partners LLC. He received a BS in petroleum engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from the University of Texas.

Petroleum Place Energy Advisors is an affiliate of The Oil & Gas Asset Clearinghouse, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Petroleum Place Inc. The firm provides negotiated transaction and advisory services for the acquisition and divestiture of oil and gas properties.

Precision Drilling Corp.

Calgary, has announced that John King has been appointed senior vice-president of its Technology Services Group. King has 15 years of experience in the oil field service industry, initially as a wireline field engineer.

Weatherford International

Houston, has announced that it has exercised its option to assume control of e2Tech Ltd. from Shell Technology Ventures Ltd. By exercising the option, Weatherford now has access to a new range of expandable tubular technology for well completion and well construction and related intellectual property rights acquired by e2Tech.
