Units enable process measurements to be made directly on wellheads and production manifolds. The sensor design is based on API performance requirement PRI and product specification level PSL3.

Temperature measurement capability over a wide operating range is provided by a fully integrated high performance platinum resistance type sensor.

Pressure ranges are available to 10,000 psi as standard with proof pressure at 1.5 x full scale range and secondary pressure containment in excess of 15,000 psi.

Features include:

  • Temperature measurement of –40° to +150° C.
  • External pressure to 9,500 ft of water.
  • Better than ±0.1% accuracy.
  • All welded construction, high containment.
  • Screen value is 25% to >0%, color PMS 313.

Free bulletin details gas monitors
Free Bulletin 07-2051 details new Ultima X Series gas monitors.

These state-of-the-art detectors feature the latest mechanical and electrical technologies and are designed for virtually any gas detection use.

Ultima XA and XE monitors provide continuous monitoring of combustible and toxic gases and oxygen deficiency, using catalytic and electrochemical technologies.

XA monitors have all-purpose plastic enclosures designed for NEMA 4X rating, while the XE offers explosionproof monitoring with a 316 stainless steel enclosure.

Features of the Ultima X series include:

  • Disconnect-under-power that allows sensors in an explosionproof unit to be changed without the need for hazardous area declassification.
  • Interchangeable smart sensors that are easy to install and replace. New sensors are recognized, triggering automatic alarm and relay setting reconfiguration.
  • State-of-the-art display that alternates between sensor reading and gas type and features scrolling diagnostic messaging.
  • Design that features one electronics board for reliability and serviceability. Multiple-entry mounting enclosure enables problem-free installation and servicing.
  • Onboard LEDs and relays that provide increased indication of alarm and fault conditions. Quick-check LEDs are viewable from afar, and field-programmable alarm levels and normally energized/de-energized and latching-nonlatching relay functions offer three levels of alarm and a fault.

Units can operate on a stand-alone basis or they can be connected to a control system (e.g., PLC, DCS) via a standard 4-20 ma output.

Well-management modeling software
New C1 modeling software uses Monte-Carlo probabilistic estimation techniques to deliver a realistic representation of the spread of possible well-management time and cost outcomes.

It incorporates learning curve and correlation effects within its capabilities, establishing best and worst case scenarios and avoiding the collapse of the output time and cost distributions to the mean. The application is an effective process in the establishment of a better understanding of risks and the reduction of campaign costs for projects ranging from single well planning to multiple well campaigning analysis, the company says.

C1 allows companies to make business decisions that are not based on the subjective but are truly objective. It is a business management tool designed to create an understanding of scheduled risk and provides an essential service to asset managers and engineers alike.

C1 allows the user to obtain the full details of best and worst case scenarios and avoids the output distributions collapsing to the mean, the firm notes.

Improved pressure, temperature switches
Explosionproof 120 Series pressure and temperature switches now come with the flexibility of dual-conduit wiring and a cover lock to restrict unauthorized access to the wiring and adjustment compartment.

Wiring to an accessible terminal block provides users with convenience and cost-effective installation, the firm notes. The line covers all uses for explosionproof instrumentation. A selection of pressure ranges, wetted materials, and pressure port configurations covers from vacuum to 6,000 psi.

Temperature switch models have a choice of remote bulb and capillary sensing or local immersion stem and cover ranges of –180° to +650° F. The availability of single or dual outputs provides threshold detection and switching for alarm, prealarm, and high-low trip points.

The choice of specifications coupled with the epoxy-coated type 4X enclosure helps suit the 120 Series for chemical and petrochemical plants, refineries, oil and gas production, and pipeline transmission uses.
