Philippine National Oil Co. has an indicated gas discovery at the Victoria-3 well in Tarlac Province, Luzon, 100 km north of Manila.

PNOC drilled to 9,000 ft, and press reports said the well flared gas continuously for several days from 5,175-5,505 ft. No flow rate was given, and the operator said more tests are needed.

The drillsite is a close offset to Victoria-2/2A, at 18,349 ft the Philippines' deepest hole.

McCully gas field appears to have been extended to the northeast.

EOG Resources Canada Inc.'s McCully D-48, 3 km northeast of the discovery well, cut a net 20 m of gas bearing sands, said Corridor Resources Inc., Halifax. Tests are planned this spring, and EOG will drill two more delineation wells.
