This new MRO Super Kit Plus contains a variety of dielectric safety tools that are commonly used by personnel working in an energized circuit environment.

The package also contains one Class O glove kit, available in a variety of sizes. All the tools are double insulated and made to the ASTM F-1505.94 standard for work on energized circuits with voltages up to 1,000 v ac (1,500 v dc). When the outer orange insulation layer has worn, the inner yellow layer shows through, serving as an early warning to remove the tool from service.

The kit includes an array of ergonomically designed screwdrivers, pliers, nutdrivers, sockets, box end wrenches, as well as a 30-150 in.-lb torque wrench with 3/8-in. reversible ratchet drive for accurate tightening of critical connections.

A full selection of SAE or metric sizes is available.

Intrinsically safe battery replacements

Intrinsically safe rechargeable replacement batteries for Ericsson/GE LPE Series and MRK Series radios are on the market.

Refiners and natural gas producers who utilize two-way radios may find these re placements useful. The batteries are approved by Factory Mutual Research Corp.

The one for the LPE Series is M191202/2, nickel cadmium, 7.5 v, 1,600 mAh capacity. It is designed to replace the Ericsson/GE BKB191202/2.

The batteries for MRK Series radios are:

  1. M278P2, nickel cadmium, 7.5 v, 1,700 mAh capacity, designed to replace the Ericsson/GE 344A3278P2.
  2. M838P2, nickel cadmium, 7.5 v, 1,100 mAh capacity, designed to replace the Ericsson/GE 191A149838P2.

All batteries are designed for the exact fit to the radio and charger.

A new line of gasoline-powered cold water pressure washers features seven models with a roll cage design.

All but two of the BC models are powered by Honda engines, ranging from 11 hp to 24 hp and delivering cleaning power of up to 5,000 psi at 5 gpm. The 20 hp and 24 hp Honda models feature electric start. A 16 hp Vanguard engine drives two models.

The cage is made of 11/4 in. steel and protected by an epoxy powder coat finish. The cage has a heavy-duty lifting beam for ease in loading and transporting.

Units feature the Legacy high-pressure pump with a 5-year warranty, an EZ start valve for resistance-free pull starting of the engine, totally enclosed, high-impact belt guard, thermal pump saver, and belt-drive system with notched V-belts, cast iron pulleys, and easy-access belt tension bolts.

Other components include double-wire, steel-braid, high-pressure hose; stainless steel wand with quick-couple connectors; insulated trigger gun with fatigue-free design; four color-coded high-pressure spray nozzles; downstream detergent injector; 10-in., tubed pneumatic tires for all-terrain maneuvering; rubber feet to absorb vibration; and inlet strainer for pump protection.

Formation pressure tester

The Compact repeat formation pressure tester ("MFT") determines in situ formation pressures at several points along a well during one run and is capable of being run in low and high-angle, horizontal wells and wells with restricted access.

The setting mechanism closes to a diameter of 23/4 in., which gives the MFT the ability to pass restrictions smaller than 3 in. in diameter and to seal in wells smaller than 4 in. diameter. It is also able to open to more than 11 in.

This design enables the MFT to access restricted entry wells and helps suit it to re-entry work, sidetracks, and for use in through-tubing drilled and coiled tubing drilled wells.

It is operated from a Compact surface unit, PC-based, enabling the system to be mobilized quickly. It can also operate on a wide range of third party wirelines, including single core cable.

The firm says that specialists are not needed to run or maintain the tool.
