Devlan Exploration Inc., Calgary, and Vintage Petroleum (Canada) Inc. are preparing to resume exploration in the Grandview Hills region on the Peel plateau northwest of Fort Good Hope.
With more than 1 million gross acres, they plan to complete and test three wells drilled earlier that showed promise in the Devonian Bear Rock formation and drill a deeper well.
The new well, Tree River C-36, is on a separate feature 9 km from the original Tree River B-10 well drilled and cased to 1,295 m in 2000-01. Projected TD is 1,890 m.
Devlan sees Devonian, Ordovician, and Cambrian potential in the area.
