The series' Sentry Circuit monitors the instrument's calibration against any system or condition changes. If those changes become significant, the Sentry Circuit triggers an alert.

Other standard features of the Series 500 include built-in battery backup, dual adjustable oxygen alarm set points, 0-25% range, 1/2 in. liquid crystal display, built-in audible alarm, front panel oxygen alarm and power status indicator lights, and an open diffuser sensor that eliminates the need to use a sample pump.

New reformulated blowout preventer fluid

New Stack Magic EV, a reformulated blowout preventer fluid, provides lubrication, corrosion protection, biodegradation, and toxological properties for production and exploration equipment.

It is environmentally sound, meeting the governmental requirements of Norway and for the North Sea, the company says.

It has been formulated with new lubrication and corrosion additives, improving corrosion protection and providing increased lubricity in subsea BOP stacks as well as multiplexed and hydraulic control systems.

It promises to maintain effectiveness under intense pressure and depth and is safe for use in environmentally sensitive locations, the firm notes.

New seal support system

The new gas conditioning unit (GCU) seal support system is designed to deliver clean, dry, properly pressurized gas to seals consistently.

The GCU features a knockout filter-coalescer vessel that removes solid particulates as well as free liquids and aerosols. A heater controller also monitors and maintains gas temperature.

In start-up, slow roll, and settle out, the GCU maintains adequate gas flow using a seal gas pressure amplifier. A pressure or flow switch signals the amplifier control, which automatically activates and deactivates the amplifier as needed.

The amplifier provides sufficient seal gas flow to prevent unfiltered process gas from working its way back to the seal faces across the inboard labyrinth, clogging the grooves and causing failures, the company says.

The GCU's functions are automatic and self-regulating. The new system can be used as a bolt-on to existing gas panels or incorporated into new panels.

Stainless steel pressure gauges discussed in catalog

A new, free catalog discusses stainless steel pressure gauges.

It offers information on five stainless steel gauge models: general purpose, general purpose with adjustable pointer, solid- front safety, miniature, and low-pressure.

Technical data are provided on dial ranges, accuracy, configurations, dimensions, end connections, operating temperatures, and materials of construction for each model.

New ball valve features multiseals

The new Dual-Seal ball valve incorporates three independent seats plus emergency sealant injection as a fourth sealing option. The maker says the stem seal design also is redundant and injectable.

The new valve is easily automated, can double block and bleed, and is bidirectional. With sizes ranging from 4 in. to 24 in. in pressure classes 150-2,500, the valve comes in a range of materials to meet a range of production, process, pipeline, and offshore uses involving critical flow.

The valve uses two independent seats on each side of a trunnion mounted ball. Each valve seat is spring and pressure activated. Only if the primary seal is damaged will the secondary upstream seal pressure activate. An optional seat arrangement on the downstream side of the ball creates a third pressure-activated seal in the event both upstream seats fail.

Each seat can be verified independently via three test-injection ports.
