Dallas, has appointed Thomas W. Comstock as chief operating officer, and James R. Craig as chief financial officer. The company also has appointed Jeffrey A. Wolf as vice-president of sales and marketing for Furmanite America.

Dallas, has appointed Thomas W. Comstock as chief operating officer, and James R. Craig as chief financial officer. The company also has appointed Jeffrey A. Wolf as vice-president of sales and marketing for Furmanite America.

In his 26-year career, Comstock has been president of the European division of a major flow control manufacturer, president of a worldwide safety service provider, and had responsibility for US operations of a large non-destructive testing company.

Hickham Industries

Houston, has announced completion and full-scale operation of its blade & airfoil manufacturing center. The 16,000 sq ft center houses state-of-the-art tooling, designed specifically for the manufacture of turbine and axial compressor airfoils.

Named to manage the center is Joe Burkhart. Burkhart has been with Hickham more than 27 years. Lead engineer is Dan Kramer, with programming and engineering assistance from David Whitmore, Shane Edwards, and Jason Munn.

Hickham Industries, a part of the Sulzer Turbomachinery Services Group, has been in business since 1973, and has the world's largest turbomachinery repair facility.

McDermott International Inc.

Houston, has named James R. Easter as vice-president finance, and treasurer, replacing Robert A. Jolliff, who will dedicate full time to the treasury matters of the Babcock & Wilcox Co., a subsidiary of McDermott.

Easter, a graduate of the University of Texas-Austin, and Thunderbird, the American Graduate School of International Management, has over 20 years of financial experience, most recently with Reliant Resources Inc.

McDermott International Inc. is a leading worldwide energy services company, providing engineering, fabrication, installation, procurement, research, manufacturing, environmental systems, and project management for a broad client base.

Pira Energy Group

New York, has announced that Mark A. Schwartz, former chief economist of ExxonMobil, has joined the firm as managing director of its newly formed Scenario Planning Group. Schwartz, who holds a PhD in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, has 25 years of experience with Exxon, having worked in international gas, upstream planning, treasurers, and corporate planning functions.

The Scenario Planning Group of Pira will offer a retainer client service that focuses on medium- to long-range energy outlook and scenario development. The service will present scenarios that will be of practical value to companies interested in testing investments or strategies against alternative energy market outcomes.
