New Iberia, La., has appointed Allen C. Porter Jr. as its president and chief executive officer, as well as president of Allen Process Systems LLC; and Bill Downey as its executive vice-president and chief operating officer, as well as president of Universal Fabricators LLC.

New Iberia, La., has appointed Allen C. Porter Jr. as its president and chief executive officer, as well as president of Allen Process Systems LLC; and Bill Downey as its executive vice-president and chief operating officer, as well as president of Universal Fabricators LLC. Unifab also announced completion of a recapitalization transaction with Midland Fabricators and Process Systems LLC, the result of which places Unifab on sound financial footing.

Unifab International Inc. is a custom fabricator of topside facilities, equipment modules, and other structures used in the development and production of oil and gas reserves. Additionally, the company designs and manufactures specialized process systems; refurbishes and retrofits existing jackets and decks; provides design, repair, refurbishment, and conversion services for oil and gas drilling rigs; and performs offshore piping hook-up and platform maintenance services.

Texas Capital Bank

Dallas, has appointed Richard G. Fuerman as petroleum engineer for its energy banking group. Fuerman holds a BS degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla, and has more than 20 years of industry experience, with specific expertise in reservoir performance evaluation, economic evaluation, acquisition and divestment analysis, secondary recovery techniques, and production enhancement. In his new position, he will be responsible for engineering evaluations in support of energy loans involving oil and gas producing assets.

WellPoint Systems Inc.

Calgary, has appointed Bob Tomes as its chief financial officer. Tomes, who holds a degree in commerce, and received his CA designation in 1980, has over 20 years of financial management experience.

WellPoint Systems is a growing oil and gas software company, with products and services for the midstream and upstream sectors of the industry.

Randall & Dewey

Houston, has named former Texaco executive, Claire S. Farley, as its chief executive officer. The appointment marks Farley's return to her roots in the upstream segment of the petroleum industry, after a stint as CEO of Trade-Ranger Inc., an e-procurement Internet platform. In 1998, Farley became the youngest executive ever appointed as a corporate officer of Texaco, and was named one of America's top 50 women executives by Fortune magazine.
