Costs for the five equipment items which make up the Nelson-Farrar miscellaneous equipment cost index were mixed in the 2000-01 period. The miscellaneous equipment index average rose from 916.5 to 944.7 in 24 months.
Greatest increase among the components making up the equipment average was that of heat exchangers, from 637.9 in February 2000 to 722.7 in December 2001.
Engines increased only slightly during the period. Instruments gained 45.9 during the 2000-01 period.
Electrical machinery dropped from 541.3 in January 2000 to 528.6 in November 2001.
The pumps and compressors average was 1500.6 in December 2001, and 1445.8 in January 2000. This showed a 54.8 point increase for the 2-year period.
