New personal gas detectors

Three new SensAir personal gas detectors for carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide, and oxygen deficiency come with standard vibrating, light, and sound alarms for low and high alarm levels.

These are not "throwaway" gas detectors: After 2 years of maintenance-free service, units can be returned to the factory for sensor and battery replacement. The units are small and lightweight and can be clipped to a belt, shirt pocket, lapel, or mounted to a hard hat.

All models have UL approval for intrinsic safety and carry a 2-year warranty.

Program creates well diagrams, custom reports

The newly launched StringView millennium software developers kit is a well visualization software program that interfaces with existing IT programs to produce well diagrams and custom reports of a broad range of wells.

The kit offers a way to use all existing data-whether it is an engineering drawing, database, or spreadsheet-to create well diagrams and reports.

Designed for the well engineer, StringView offers ease of use to create professional, customized string diagrams of multilateral, vertical, deviated, and horizontal wells, as well as single and dual completions and multiple strings. It is also flexible, because diagrams may be created using the icons provided by StringView or a combination of existing company data and imagery.

The program:

  • Embeds seamlessly into the user's existing IT applications.
  • Interfaces with the user's existing IT infrastructure making it possible to manipulate existing digital data and resources to produce well diagrams.
  • Uses vector-based graphics that do not degrade when stretched or curved.

Rod pump features linear electric motor

This new sucker rod pump features a 12 kw linear electric motor that promises to make the unit more efficient than a standard version.

It's mainly designed for deeper wells, the firm says. The speed of the upstroke, downstroke, and stroke length are simply dialed in to the unit's electronic controller.

The concrete counterbalance can be sized and poured into a block on site. Counterbalance size depends on hole depth.

The company says the pump can be moved easily via one flatbed truck, with the assembled tower laid flat.

Free upstream flow management bulletin

A new 20 page bulletin, offered free upon request, explains this firm's technical and applications capabilities in upstream flow management.

In addition, it highlights a line of pumps that is designed for onshore and offshore production, synthetic crude ex traction and refining, and processing LNG.

The bulletin describes:

  • Submersible motor pumps for subsea, deep well, or high pressure boosting needs.
  • Multistage, axially split and double casing, diffuser and volute design pumps for high pressure services including water injection.
  • Multistage, axially split pumps for water and liquid CO2 injection.

The bulletin also features pumps for pipeline applications such as:

  • Single stage and multistage axially split pumps for pipeline and booster services.
  • Vertical turbine, double casing single or multistage pumps for pipeline booster and transfer services.
  • Vertical, in-line pumps designed for tank farm and transfer services.

A section in the brochure notes pumps that are designed for specialty applications. Among them are:

  • Horizontal, single stage, end suction hard metal slurry pumps for tar sand extraction services including froth and tailings applications.
  • Multiphase two-screw, double suction pumps designed for oil-gas-water separation, subsea service, refining, and processing.
  • Double casing cryogenic liquid expanders for severe subzero temperatures in LNG production.
  • Vertical and single multistage horizontal pumps for low temperature service in LNG storage and transport.

The literature notes operating parameters of the pumps. Pumps are compliant with API 610 current edition standards.
