Eighteen field trials of a new polymer-free viscoelastic diverting acid (VDA) in Kuwait Oil Co. (KOC) wells restored production and increased reserves from both new and existing wells completed in the Mauddud formation, in the north fields of Kuwait.VDA is a recent innovation in carbonate reservoir stimulation.
