PERSONNEL MOVES AND PROMOTIONS: Pangea Petroleum names new president

Mark Weller has been named president of Houston-based independent Pan gea Petroleum Corp., Houston. Weller, who has worked as a consultant for Pangea for the last 6 months, has over 30 years of experience in the energy industry.

Most recently, he served as general manager, new project development, for Texaco Inc.

Weller has worked in all phases of oil and gas operations and development-both onshore and offshore on the US Gulf and West coasts-as well as working on international project development assignments.

Other moves

Blake C. Fleming has joined Canadian 88 Energy Corp., Calgary, as senior vice-president and chief operating officer.

Fleming comes to Canadian 88 with 23 years of experience in the Canadian upstream oil and gas industry. Most recently, he served as vice-president, Hunter north business unit, at Canadian Hunter Exploration Ltd., Calgary.

Dave Hager has been named vice-president, exploration and production, for Kerr-McGee Corp., Houston. Hager-who has worked for 21 years for Kerr-McGee-most recently served as vice-president, Gulf of Mexico and worldwide deepwater E&P, for the company's E&P division.

Hager will be assisted by the following operations management team: Annell Bay, vice-president, worldwide exploration; Darrell Hollek, vice-president, Gulf of Mexico and worldwide deepwater E&P; Jim Kleckner, vice-president, US onshore and international shelf operations; Susan Lloyd, vice-president, business services; Chuck Meloy, vice-president and managing director, UK operations; and Bill Layton, vice-president and associate general counsel, exploration and production legal services.

Paul H. Barry has joined Duke Energy Corp., Charlotte, NC, as vice-president, mergers and acquisitions. For the last 3 years, Barry has served as vice-president at GE Capital Services Structured Finance Group.

Prior to that, he spent 3 years at CBS Corp. (formerly Westinghouse Electric Corp.) as director, corporate finance. He also worked for 5 years at BP PLC predecessor Amoco Corp., working the last few years there as director, acquisitions and divestitures.
