Aberdeen, has announced the appointment of Doug Bell as area manager-Asia Pacific. Bell, a native of Tauranga, New Zealand, worked for the P.T. Intraco Penta Group before joining BJ Tubular Services in 1998.

Aberdeen, has announced the appointment of Doug Bell as area manager-Asia Pacific. Bell, a native of Tauranga, New Zealand, worked for the P.T. Intraco Penta Group before joining BJ Tubular Services in 1998. He most recently has served as business development manager for the Middle East-Asia Pacific region. In his new position, Bell will be based in Kuala Lumpur, and will oversee all operational, financial, business development, and personnel activities throughout the region on behalf of the division.

In another announcement, BJ Tubular Services has opened a new operations base in Macae, Brazil. The division also has a facility in Mossoro in Northern Brazil. Macae is home to Petrobras' largest operating base from which it supports a large number of deepwater developments, and will be the base for BJ's transportable bucking unit used to provide onshore completion assembly services.

Base supervisor for the new facility is Arno Heijmann.

BJ Tubular Services specializes in personnel and equipment for running casing and tubing, particularly premium connections, high chrome content tubulars, dual, triple, and subsea completions, as well as hammer conductor driving services.

BJ Services Co. is a leading provider of pressure pumping and related oil field services. The company operates internationally as BJ Services Co., BJ Process & Pipeline Services, BJ Tubular Services, BJ Completion Assembly Services, BJ Services Co. Canada, and BJ Unichem Chemical Services.

Expro International Group PLC and Map Oil Tools Inc.

Aberdeen, UK, and Wichita Falls, Tex., respectively, have announced a licensing agreement whereby Expro will market completion products manufactured by Map Oil Tools. The agreement will support Expro's growing US-based packer and service tool business, as well as the development of international markets through the group's global infrastructure.

Expro Group is a global oil field service company, focusing on development, production, and abandonment phases of the hydrocarbon lifecycle.

Map Oil Tools designs and manufactures completion and production products.

Skipping Stone Inc.

Philadelphia, is expanding its operations by moving its headquarters to a larger facility in Philadelphia, and by establishing an office in Fort Meyers, Fla.

Jeffrey Felton has joined the company as a principal and will head the new Fla. location. Felton has more than 22 years of experience in building and managing IT consulting practices, and in delivering business and IT solutions. He previously was a partner with Business Edge Solutions, a senior vice-president with DMR Group, a partner at Price Waterhouse, and a principal with American Management Systems.

Houston, has elected Michael McShane as president, chief executive officer, and member of the board of directors. McShane, who earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Texas, is a certified public accountant, and most recently served as senior vice-president of finance, chief financial officer, and a director of BJ Services Co.

Lord Corp.

Cary, NC, has announced the opening of a European Technology Center located in Strasbourg, France, to provide support to Lord's European customers.

The facility will feature a complete engineering and R&D environment including state-of-the-art computer-aided engineering and design capabilities, as well as dy nam ics diagnostic and testing equipment.

Schlumberger Information Solutions

Houston, has announced that it has provided leading-edge oil and gas exploration and production software to Har vard University, which plans to use the gift to enhance and expand research into structural geology and reflection seismology.

The software is being provided to Harvard's Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences.
