Former TDW president and long-time supporter of innovative pipeline maintenance solutions, A.B. Steen, was honored at the center's dedication ceremony and cut the ribbon for the new facility.

The TDW Technology Center is the first of its kind in the pipeline maintenance industry, and addresses the industry's focus on enhancing the reliability and integrity of pipelines throughout the world.

T.D. Williamson Inc., founded in 1920, designs and manufactures engineered systems for monitoring, pigging, tapping, plugging, joining, and inspecting essential piping systems, and also provides these services.

Intec Engineering

Houston, has announced the appointment of James G. Osborn as vice-president of business development and marketing for its Houston operations. He will also have an international coordination role and assist Intec's international management team in developing marketing and sales strategies for the entire company.

Osborn is a civil engineering graduate of MIT, and has both operations and business development experience in offshore and onshore engineering and construction with Kellogg Brown & Root.

Intec Engineering, a division of the Heerema Group, is a leader in deepwater oil and gas development solutions. It has capabilities in engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of offshore and onshore energy projects.

Netzsch Inc.

Exton, Pa., has announced the appointment of John Maguire to vice-president of its Nemo Pump Div. He has worked in both industrial and municipal sales, and as special projects manager, for Netzsch Nemo Pumps since 1983.

Maguire attended West Chester University, where he majored in business administration and marketing.

Smedvig ASA

Stavanger, has appointed Kjell E. Jacobsen as chief executive officer. He had been acting CEO since late 2001.

Smedvig ASA is an offshore drilling contractor, providing drilling and well services in the North Atlantic and Southeast Asia.

Whittier, Calif., and Montrose, Scotland, respectively, have announced a partnership whereby US Filter's Whittier facility will represent the Merpro product line in North America. Merpro currently acts as representative for US Filter's hydrocyclone in the North Sea.

Merpro Ltd. is a global engineering company with an extensive patent portfolio. Its product line includes solids separation and removal systems, solids transportation systems, a sand media washing and conditioning system, and a gas dehydration unit.

Rancho Cordova, Calif., has appointed Ric Ashton as vice-president of marketing, and Fritz Reuter as technical representative, both based in Houston.

Ashton has 30 years of industry experience with Exlog and Baker Hughes.

Reuter has over 35 years of industry experience with Exlog, Baker Hughes, and Western Atlas. He will oversee research and development projects and liaise with partner companies and universities.

International Logging Inc. provides petroleum and geothermal mudlogging, and wellsite consultancy services.
