SCADA unit designed for low power uses

The new SCADAPack LP has been engineered for low power applications.

Its low rate of power use helps make this PLC/RTU economical. The new controller operates with smaller solar panels, batteries, and enclosures.

Plus, the LP includes a 12-24 v dc-dc converter and two turbine meter preamplifiers, lowering the number of parts, increasing reliability, and reducing the footprint, the maker points out.

It is suited to oil field applications needing a mix of analog and digital I/O and multiple communication ports. The controller supports standard protocols: Modbus ASCII/RTU master/slave with store-and-forward, DF-1 full and half-duplex, and DNP 3.0.

It features a 3 year warranty.

Free brochure on basket pipeline strainer

A new brochure, yours free upon request, describes the Model 53BTX duplex basket strainer.

This newly designed pipeline strainer features a patented diverter cartridge that isolates and seals the basket chamber leaktight, simplifying strainer basket cleaning or changeout for the system operator.

With the out-of-service basket chamber sealed leaktight, there's no rush against the clock to finish the basket cleaning or changing operation before the chamber refills with liquid, the brochure says.

The full color brochure makes extensive use of computer generated images to look inside the strainer and to show exploded views of the strainer.

A large cutaway image shows the internal components of the strainer and makes it easy to see features such as the dynamic ball sealing system, double stem seals, and the special seat design that never requires adjustment.

An exploded view of the patented diverter cartridge shows how all the parts in the cartridge relate to each another.

Another exploded image of the complete strainer shows how the diverter cartridge fits inside the strainer body and how access is gained to the strainer basket chambers for basket cleaning.

A technical information page contains dimensional information for all sizes of the 53BTX from 3/4 in. to 4 in. The dimensional table has dimensions in inches and millimeters.

Weights for all materials of construction-iron, bronze, carbon steel, and stainless steel-are given in pounds and kilograms. An easy-to-use selection table is included.

New 6 and 8 in. drilling hammers work fast

New Deep Well 600 and 880 hammers achieve ROP rates that are as much as 50% faster than any other 6 or 8 in. version, the company reports.

While this rate should not be considered typical, an ROP exceeding 200 fph is not unusual, providing sufficient air is available, the company notes.

These new hammers feature an air system that overcomes pressure to allow even underwater drilling.

They are specifically designed for deep well uses. Hammers have minimal moving parts and are simple and easy to main tain.

New product upgrades gas-treating systems

New GAS/SPEC CS-1000 formulated amine has been developed to remove large volumes of carbon dioxide from natural gas and synthesis gas streams.

Two of the most common uses for this new amine will be at refinery hydrogen plants and ammonia production facilities. In these particular facilities, carbon dioxide contents of up to 20% or more often need to be reduced to less than 100 ppm in the treated gas.

CS-1000 solvent is specifically designed to be used in amine systems currently operating on mixtures of methyldiethan olamine and piperazine.
