White Plains, NY, has announced that Bob Fitzgerald, founder of Bunkerfuels, has joined its senior management team. Fitzgerald founded Bunk erfuels in 1978, after service in Chevron's production, drilling, and bunker divisions, and 8 years as manager of the bunker department for Charles R. Weber Co., a leading ship chartering firm.

OceanConnect launched its online bunker auction platform in July 2000. The company combines traditional broker services with a transparent online marketplace.

Dallas, has named Stuart M. Brightman as president. Brightman's 20-plus year career in the industry has included stints with Cameron Iron Works, Cooper Oil Tools, and Wheatley TXT Corp. He holds a BS degree in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of the Univer sity of Pennsylvania.

Dresser Flow Control, a business unit of Dresser Inc., is a leader in the design, manufacture, and supply of valves, pumps, actuators, meters, regulators, piping specialties, and control solutions for the exploration & production, transmission, and distribution sectors of the oil and natural gas industries.

Energy Virtual Partners Inc. (EVP)

Houston, a new oil and gas asset management service business, has named David Work as chairman, and Bob Peebler as president and CEO. Work formerly was a senior executive at BP and Amoco. Peebler previously was president and CEO of Landmark Graphics.

The company's concept is to take declining oil and gas fields that energy companies have chosen not to develop, but are not ready to divest, and apply high-tech processes and expert knowledge to boost production and lower costs. Using state-of-the-art computing and Internet technologies, the company links partners together in a true virtual business. Foster Wheeler Ltd.

Hamilton, Bermuda, has announced the appointment of Keith E. Batchelor as vice-president of sales and marketing worldwide for its engineering and construction group. Batchelor will be based at the company's UK subsidiary in Reading. He succeeds Gianni Bachiddu, who retired after 28 years with the company.

Batchelor obtained a degree in chemical engineering from Imperial College of Science and Technology in London, and a business master's degree from the UK's Cranfield School of Management.

Foster Wheeler Ltd. offers a broad range of design, engineering, construction, manufacturing, project development and management, research, plant operation, and environmental services. Its operational headquarters are in Clinton, NJ.

Geoservices SA

Paris, has appointed Jean-Pierre Poyet as technical director and head of research at their head office. Poyet joins the company from Schlumberger, where he held a variety of positions over 17 years. A graduate of Ecole Centrale de Lyon, Poyet also has a PhD in astrophysics from Columbia University.

Geoservices is a prominent service company in the upstream sector of the international oil and gas industry, specializing in mud logging, well testing, well intervention, cased hole logging, and production facilities.

Geotrace Technologies

Denver, has announced the acquisition of Ensign Geophysics Ltd., a leader in marine seismic data processing and analysis services for the oil and gas industry.

The acquisition will add to the technologies of Geotrace, while providing it with the geographic locations to expedite its expansion into the markets of Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Additionally, Ensign's marine capability and reservoir services group will complement the reservoir services currently offered by Geotrace.

Geotrace Technologies provides proprietary technologies aimed at reservoir imaging and description used to enhance the optimization of petroleum reservoirs.

Hunting Energy Services LP

Houston, the newly consolidated company that combines the entities of Hunting Vinson Inc., Hunting Iberia Inc., and Hunting Oilfield Services Inc. in the US, has announced the assignment of Bill Noble as manager of strategic development.

Noble earned a BS in business from Louisiana State University, and has more than 24 years of industry experience.

Hunting Energy Services is a vertically integrated tubular system, trenchless drilling, and slickline tool supplier.

Linde AG

Wiesbaden, Germany, through its subsidiary Selas Fluid Processing Corp., Blue Bell, Pa., has acquired Thermatrix Inc.

Thermatrix, based in Knoxville, Tenn., operates in the field of flameless thermal oxidation, and serves the chemical, pet ro chemical, and pharmaceutical industries.

The gas and engineering business segment of Linde AG operates in the field of petrochemical and low-temperature technology, as well as gas liquefaction, and environmental engineering. Its SFPC subsidiary specializes in design and engineering of fired process heaters, LNG vaporizers, and thermal oxidizers.

Houston, has named John Augustine as senior vice-president, administering Paragon's engineering and design capabilities, quality assurance and control, human resources, and safety.

Augustine holds bachelor's and master's degrees in civil engineering from the University of Wash ington, Seattle. He has 28 years of onshore and offshore oil and gas industry experience. He most recently had been with ABB Lummus Global Inc.

Paragon Engineering Services Inc. provides project management, engineering, design, drafting, procurement, construction management, inspection, and training services to the oil and gas, and pipeline industries.
