The monitor measures combustible gas, oxygen, carbon monoxide, and hydrogen sulfide, and has an internal electric pump. The unit features an auto-zero function to assure the user of correct operation.

Its construction is enhanced with an impact-resistant rubber boot. The monitor is also water resistant and can withstand total immersion in water for as much as 1/2 hr. The unit weighs a little more than 1 lb.

Gas levels are displayed on a high-contrast, back-lit display, which automatically scrolls between readings.

If gas is detected, a multitone siren is triggered, together with ultrabright flashing LEDs that are visible over a 270° angle. Pressing the single button control, which is oversized to allow easy use when thick gloves are worn, resets alarms.

The monitor and its removable battery pack, which is secured by a steel click-lock mechanism, are certified intrinsically safe.

New software used to size process valves

An enhanced version of Alpha I software allows users to select the most suitable DeZURIK valve for a wider range of process conditions.

Version 6.4 also provides specification sheets, calculations, characteristic curves, and outline drawings.

With Alpha I, Version 6.4, users can now size for all DeZURIK valves with the required capacity for specified process conditions.

In addition, the program calculates parameters for superheated steam conditions.

Users can select between gauge or absolute pressure units and can calculate pipe insulation effects based on typical thermal and acoustical insulation.

Additions to the data base include common liquids and gases as well as pipe schedules.
