Houston, has announced the appointment of Dan Rothrock as director of international sales. Rothrock has over 25 years of international drilling equipment, and rig sales experience.

IDM Equipment Ltd. is a full-service manufacturer of new land drilling systems, and remanufactured land rig packages. The company also supplies associated drilling components, including drawworks, mud pumps, auxiliary brakes, fluid end modules, mud pump parts, hook blocks, mud systems, rotary swivels, rotary tables, and SCR houses.

Louveciennes, France, has appointed Braxton Scherz to its U.S. marketing team, based in Houston. Scherz received a BS degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. He has 25 years of industry experience, having served with Texaco, Pertamina, and El Paso Global LNG.

ITP Interpipe, established in 1992, is a subsea pipeline company, and has designed, engineered, and provided over 100 km of insulated pipeline in the North Sea and offshore West Africa.

New York, has appointed Joseph Carey as managing director/industry head for the natural resources group. Carey will be based in New York, but he will spend a considerable amount of time in Hous ton.

Carey holds a BA from Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from the Univer sity of Pennsylvania.

He worked in the energy investment banking group at First Boston and Merrill Lynch before joining Banc of America Securities.

Banc of America Securities LLC is a subsidiary of Bank of America Corpor ation, a leading financial services company with offices in 33 countries.

Houston, has announced the assignment of Jorge Machnizh as vice-president for operations, North America.

Machnizh has over 22 years of experience in the E&P industry, and has held management positions with Geo source and Halli bur ton Geophysical Services in the US, and in Latin America with Schlumberger Geco-Prakla.

Most recently, Machnizh served Land mark as vice-president of Latin American operations.

Landmark Graphics Corp. is a wholly owned business unit of Halliburton Co. Founded in 1919, Halliburton is a leading global provider of products and services to the petroleum and energy industries.

Waukesha Engine

Waukesha, Wis., has announced the appointment of Aseem Kumar Sharma as regional manager for India. He will be based in Waukesha Engine's India regional office at Mumbai, with respon sibilities for development of the company's presence and market penetration in this region with its growing natural gas and power generation infrastructure.

Sharma received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering, Nagpur, and has more than 17 years of experience in the engine and power generation fields.

Waukesha Engine, a business unit of Dallas-based Dresser Inc., was founded in 1906, and is a manufacturer of spark-ignited, gaseous-fueled engines used in field gas compression, power generation, and other mechanical drive applications.

Snyder, Tex., has named Spencer Armour executive vice-president. Additionally, Patter son-UTI subsidiary, Ambar Lone Star Fluid Services, has promoted Ron Brazzel to president, Bonsall Wilton to vice-president of technology and research, and Mark Campbell to president-Western Division.

Armour founded Lone Star Mud in 1986, which later acquired Ambar, forming Ambar Lone Star, a drilling and completion fluids company wholly owned by Patterson-UTI. He will be responsible for corporate sales for all Patterson-UTI entities.

Brazzel, who has 28 years of experience in the fluids business, most recently served as senior vice-president of business development for Ambar Lone Star.

Wilton, a graduate of Texas A&M University, will be responsible for product development for both drilling and completion fluids, as well as directing the company's technical services group.

Campbell, who founded Tejas Fluids in 1985, has been with Ambar Lone Star since 1998. He will oversee the East Texas, South Texas, Permian Basin, and mid-continent regions.
