Equatorial Energy Inc., Calgary, has made various executive-level appointments.

Mark J. Powell has been named vice-president, exploration.

Previously, Powell served as president of private oil and gas company Mambesa Energy Ltd. and a director of Flow-Back Oil & Gas Ltd., a private drilling fund.

Powell was a founder of Calgary-based Calahoo Petroleum Ltd., serving as former director and vice-president, exploration, until May 2000. Before his 7-year tenure with Calahoo, he held various senior geologic positions with Voyager Energy Inc. and Poco Petroleums Ltd., both of Calgary.

P. David Shenstone has been named vice-president, land and business development.

Shenstone spent 5 years with Courage Energy Inc., Calgary, as vice-president, land. A landman for 22 years, dealing with international properties, Shenstone has worked for Calgary-based Shell Canada Ltd., BHP Petroleum Pty. Ltd., and Ultramar Diamond Shamrock Corp.

Michael A. Wilhelm was named vice-president, finance, and chief financial officer. Wilhelm joined Equatorial in 1996.

He previously was an independent consultant providing financial services to various public and private companies and has 12 years experience in the oil and gas industry.

Frank Muller was named vice-president, exploration, of Real Resources Inc., Calgary.

Muller joined Real in January 1998 as a senior exploration geologist and was promoted to chief geologist in July 1999.

For 18 years, he has held positions of increasing responsibility with both major multinational and Canadian independent oil and gas exploration and production companies.

He succeeded the retiring Gordie Crowell, who held the office for the past 5 years.

Touchstone Resources Ltd., Vancouver, BC, has elected Stirling D. Pack Jr. vice-president and chief financial officer.

Pack will hold the same positions with wholly owned subsidiary Touchstone Resources USA Inc., Houston.

Pack retired from Coastal Corp., Houston, where he was a vice-president and a senior vice-president of Coastal States Management Corp.

Pack began his business career as an economic analyst at Marathon Oil Co., Houston, in 1980 and 4 years later joined Detroit-based American Natural Resources Co., which Coastal acquired in 1985.

Downstream moves

James F. Hoffman, manager of Marathon Ashland Petroleum LLC's refining, analytical, and development department at the Catlettsburg, Ky., refinery, has been named chairman of the petroleum division of the American Chemical Society. Hoffman will serve 3 years leading the ACS petroleum division, as chair-elect, chair, and past-chair. Hoffman has been with MAP since 1978, when he was hired as a chemist, and he has held numerous positions within the company during that time.

Enterprise Products Partners LP, Houston, has named Gil H. Radtke senior vice-president and James M. Collingsworth vice-president.

Radtke will be responsible for commercial activities within the partnership's petrochemical division, which includes butane isomerization, octane enhancement, and propylene fractionation as well as the storage and propylene businesses recently acquired from Diamond-Koch.

Before joining Enterprise, Radtke was president of the Diamond-Koch joint venture. Radtke worked for Ultramar Diamond Shamrock's petrochemical business for 18 years.

Collingsworth will be responsible for natural gas liquids fractionation. He has 27 years experience in the NGL, petrochemical, and refining industries.

Before joining Enterprise, Collingsworth was senior vice-president of NGL assets and business services for Texaco Inc. where he worked for 10 years. Prior to joining Texaco, he directed feedstocks activities for Rexene Petrochemical Co. and served with MAPCO for 15 years.
