Houston, has announced that David Armitage, founder and former CEO of GeoGraphix, has joined the company as chief executive officer. Armitage holds BS degrees in economics and geology from St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY, and has extensive field experience as an exploration geologist.

A2D Technologies, founded in 1993, is a leading petroleum well log data, software, and data management services company.

St. Louis, has named Daniel G. Button president of its Valve Automation Division.

Button, a graduate of Iowa State University, has more than 23 years of experience with Fisher Controls and Emerson. He most recently was vice-president, valves-Asia Pacific.

Additionally, the Division´s Waller, Tex., location has elevated four to product manager positions. Tom Jeansonne, based in Waller, is product manager for Bettis scotch yoke actuators. Mike McQuade, located in Mansfield, Ohio, is product manager for Shafer gas/hydraulics, Dantorque subsea, and Bettis electric actuators. Hugh Flesher, in Edmonton, Alta., is product manager of Bettis gas/hydraulic systems. Jim Beals is product manager of bus technologies and accessories, and is located in Marshalltown, Iowa.

The Valve Automation Div. is part of Emerson´s control family that includes Fisher Controls and Daniel, and consolidates a vast array of valve automation products and services.

Emerson Process Management is a leading provider of automation products and services for the production, processing, and distribution components of the chemical, oil and gas, pulp and paper, power, and other industries.

ONDEO Nalco

Sugar Land, Tex., has named Mark L. Bosanko as group vice-president and president of ONDEO Nalco Energy Services LP. He replaces Jack A. Shubert, who has been promoted to group vice-president and president of the company´s European operations.

Bosanko is a graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD, with a BS in business administration and minor in environmental science. He has held a variety of positions since joining Nalco in 1981.

ONDEO Nalco Energy Services, a division of ONDEO Nalco, is a supplier of specialty chemical applications and services used in oil exploration, refining, and chemical process industries. ONDEO Nalco, a subsidiary of ONDEO, is a provider of water treatment and process chemicals. ONDEO provides water and wastewater services in 130 countries.

Greenville, SC, has appointed Dave Gasmovic president and chief operating officer.

Gasmovic, who holds a degree in finance from Miami University in Ohio, joined the company in 1979 as regional sales manager.

McLaughlin is a leading manufacturer and distributor of equipment for the underground construction industry. Product lines include directional tracking and locating systems, digital locators, auger boring systems, drilling tools, piercing tools, and accessories.

Lafayette, La., has named Guy Mirro as Houston sales manager, responsible for promoting NES´ exploration and production waste, NORM and industrial waste services to the energy and industrial industries. Mirro has more than 20 years of experience in the environmental, regulatory, and energy services sector.

Newpark Environmental Services serves customers in the US and Canada, with recent cold-weather composting projects in the Arctic, Eastern Canada, and Rocky Mountain regions. NES is a wholly owned subsidiary of Newpark Resources Inc., a provider of integrated fluids management, as well as environmental and oil field services to the exploration and production industry.

Houston, has announced that vice-chairman Victor Grijalva has retired after a successful 37-year career with the company.

Grijalva graduated with a BS in electrical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and received an MS in the same field from the University of Pennsylvania. He joined Schlumberger in Houston as a senior development engineer, and held numerous field positions around the world before becoming president of Wireline and Testing-North America in 1985. He was named vice-chairman of Schlumberger Ltd. in 1998.

Houston, has announced the appointment of Frederic R. Wenzel as vice-president of sales and technology, and David Royko as vice-president of operations.

Wenzel has 22 years of applications, marketing, sales, and product management experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. He most recently served as business development manager of ABB Inc. in the upstream oil and gas division.

Royko has been with Zed.i since 1991, serving most recently as general manager.

Zed.i Solutions is a supplier of remote performance monitoring solutions targeting wells in the natural gas and pipeline industries.
