New panel mount horn is explosion protected

A new globally certified explosion protected panel mount oil field horn features a rugged aluminum painted housing, weighs less than 3 lb, and has an outer profile of 1.1 in.

The YA11 has zone 2 certifications for ATEX and IECEx, as well as NEC and CEC Class I, Division 2, Class I, Zone 2. It operates from 18-32 v DC and is certified for ambient temperatures from –40o C. to +70o C., with IP66 and NEMA 4X certified protection.

Prewired with 10 ft of cable, installation is quick, easy, and cost effective, the company says.

New multivariable digital transmitter

The MDT500 direct mounted, multivariable measurement digital transmitter is a new addition to this firm's laminar flow element line.

Laminar applications include leak detection, calibration reference standards, gas flow measurements, and combustion airflow to engines.

The unit delivers system accuracy of ±0.8% full scale or better. It offers a response time of less than 0.1 sec. With long term stability and no moving parts, the unit is maintenance free.

The transmitter provides a wide flow range, while maintaining accuracy, and there is no drift over time and temperature. It delivers repeatability and is also independent of orientation. The MDT500 offers linear response, and a low head loss model is also available.

Transmitter is modbus- compatible with controllers

The iTrans fixed-gas monitors (photo at left) are now fully compatible with this firm's WX series controllers (photo below).

This new compatibility helps make the WX-iTrans combination even more versatile and cost effective, the company notes. The WX series consists of three controllers: WX4 (four-channel controller), the WX16 (16-channel controller), and the WX64 (64-channel controller).

All WX controllers can be configured to receive and transmit gas readings wirelessly.

Other features include RS485 ports, programmable relays, a backlit LCD screen, and 24-hr data logging. The WX64 also has an embedded web site page that enables remote viewing and configuration of all 64 channels via a standard web browser.

Additionally, the WX series controllers offer communicating seamlessly with each other via their analog, digital, or wireless signals.

iTrans fixed-point gas monitors use an intelligent electronics platform to provide one or two points of detection from a single head for maximum flexibility, performance, and lower installation costs. Optional on-board relays give the monitor the added ability of stand-alone operation, activating alarms, horns, or flashlights.

New level switch

Here's the new LBFS level switch, which the maker says is a reliable alternative to widely used vibratory level switches.

The LBFS sensor can also detect the levels of viscous or dry materials and can be fitted on tanks or pipes in any desired position. The sensor is insensitive to flow, turbulence, bubbles, or foaming, and suspended solids. The compact, smooth sensor head resists media adhesion, even with sticky media. The sensor´s short response time enables rapid fill level detection and accurate, reliable fill level compliance.

The switch is able to detect media levels in oil field tanks, vessels, and pipelines. It can also be used for overflow prevention, pump protection against dry running, and media separation with oil/water mixtures.

Compressor series expanded to include 95-5,000 hp range

The E-Select Systems' CA Series dual drive compression line has been expanded and now features custom compression unit options in a range of 95-5,000 hp.

The series features a Caterpillar Inc. engine coupled with an Ariel Corp. compressor and an electric motor on one skid. The compressor seamlessly switches operation between the natural gas engine and electric motor without any downtime or interruption to gas flow.

The E-Select CA units offer a simplistic design to allow for easy maintenance, and the switch between drivers is simple and quick, the firm says. The series is simply a natural gas compressor and an electric compressor connected by a clutch, which offers the best attributes of both fuel sources, the company points out.
