Firm adds hirschmann brand rsp ethernet switches

This firm now offers Chambersburg, Pa.-based Hirschmann Automation & Control Inc. brand route switch processor (RSP) Ethernet switches that promise to withstand oil field conditions and ensure high network availability.

The RSP switch series supports the new International Electrotechnical Commission-standard redundancy protocols, which help suit them for environments such as electricity distribution, mechanical engineering, production, or security operations, where uninterrupted data communications in environments are a requirement.

The RSP switches support the parallel redundancy protocol and high-availability seamless redundancy, which provide failover times of 0 ms.

They feature sturdy, compact stainless steel housings measuring 100 mm wide by 164 mm tall by 116 mm deep. The switches are rated to operating temperatures of –40° C. to +70° C. and are available with power supplies supporting 24/48 v DC, 60/120/250 v DC, or 110/230 v AC.

Flame-resistant gloves for oil field workers

ActivArmr flame-resistant 97-200 gloves are on the market to help protect upstream oil and gas workers from flash fires as well as daily concerns of impact and abrasion.

The company says its gloves help maximize impact protection and flame resistance (National Fire Protection Association 2112 Flame Resistant Work Wear Standard) without compromising comfort and dexterity.

Suited for uses from the rig floor to production services, gloves are designed with an exclusive flame-resistant fabric and feature a proprietary bumper formulation that covers the knuckles and an easy don/doff safety cuff for quick release in the event of an accident.

The gloves are the first in the company's full line that it is developing in collaboration with oil and gas workers to provide them with hand protection while enhancing the comfort and tactility needed to perform complicated tasks in the field.

Gloves are constructed with palm padding, Hi Viz fabric with a contrasting palm, durable Kevlar stitching, and a digital goat skin leather palm providing optimal resistance from cuts (American National Standards Institute 2), abrasions (ANSI 4), punctures (ANSI 2), and tears.
