OGJ's annual list of major upstream megaprojects contains ventures in four more countries than it did in 2011 (OGJ, Oct. 3, 2011, p. 94).
The 48 countries listed this year include Bangladesh, Mozambique, Myanmar, and Niger for the first time. A number of projects that started up in 2011 have been dropped from the list.
As usual, delays of one kind or another have caused operators to push start-up dates of several projects farther into the future.
A few projects are listed even though final investment decisions have not yet been made.
