Vermilion acquiring Saskatchewan producer

Vermilion Energy Inc. has agreed to acquire a private Saskatchewan company with light-oil production in the Sinclair and Fertile areas straddling the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border. 

Vermilion Energy Inc. has agreed to acquire a private Saskatchewan company with light-oil production in the Sinclair and Fertile areas straddling the Saskatchewan-Manitoba border.

The $90.8-million (Can.) acquisition includes 100% operated interest in 42,600 acres with production of 1,150 b/d of 40° gravity oil from Mississippian-Devonian Bakken-Three Forks strata.

The area, 55 km northeast of existing Vermilion operations in southeastern Saskatchewan, has proved and probable reserves of 6.7 million bbl of oil. About 45% of the production is under waterflood.
