State-owned PT Pertamina (Persero) has become operator of the Offshore Mahakam Block off Indonesia after ownership reverted to the government when the production-sharing contract expired at the end of 2017 (OGJ Online, Mar. 16, 2017).

Total E&P Indonesie is the former operator. It and INPEX Corp. were 50-50 partners.

Also reverting to the government at expiration this year is the nearby East Kalimantan PSC operated by Chevron Corp.

The PSC includes the Attaka Unit encompassing Attaka oil and condensate field. INPEX holds a 50% interest in the Attaka Unit.
