PT Pertamina EP said it expects to take 45 days to drill a 9,000-ft well in Poleng field in the Java Sea.
Cost is estimated at $15 million for the Poleng N2, also known as CW-12H. The field is west of Madura Island, East Java.
The well will be drilled by Ensco PLC’s Ensco 67 jack up drilling rig, which can drill in as much as 400 ft of water.
