Hanssen appointed DEA chief executive officer

Maria Moraeus Hanssen has been named chief executive officer and chairman of DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG, effective January 2018.

She will succeed Thomas Rappuhn, who spent 30 years at the company, including 12 years on the executive board and 8 years as chief executive officer.

Hanssen, who is trained as a reservoir engineer and petroleum economist, is currently chief executive officer of the French utility group Engie’s exploration and production business. Her oil and gas industry experience includes stints with Hydro ASA, Statoil ASA, and Aker ASA.
