Occidental of Abu Dhabi Ltd. has let a contract to KBR Inc. for management of the front-end engineering and design services phase of Dalma gas field development and the surveys phase of the Hail and Ghasha Islands project in Abu Dhabi.
The Oxy subsidiary acted on behalf of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co.
KBR said development of Hail and Ghasha fields, one of ADNOC’s largest sour gas projects, will yield production of about 1 bcfd of gas. The project will include at least 11 artificial islands.
ADNOC also plans to invest in Nasr and Shuwaihat fields in a 2030 strategy stressing gas development and utilization and calling for a 50% increase in Al Hosn gas processing capacity to 1.5 MMscfd.
