Enterprise Products Partners LP (EPP), Houston, continues to operate two of its South Texas natural gas processing plants in the wake of Tropical Storm Harvey, including the 1.05-bcfd Yoakum complex, the largest of the operator’s Texas Gulf Coast system.
Operations at the company’s remaining six gas processing plants as well as the Shoup NGL fractionation complex, however, have been suspended amid various storm impacts, including loss of power, loss of third-party services, unidentified minor damage, and reduced natural gas production, EPP said.
The company did not identify the second South Texas gas plant still in operation, but the operator did confirm that, as of Aug. 28, none of the plants have incurred any major damage.
While the storm has resulted in rising water and loss of power at the partnership’s Mont Belvieu, Tex., complex, four of its eight NGL fractionators and three of its six propylene fractionators and storage installations remain in service or limited service, EPP said.
Alongside the Yoakum plant, EPP owns and operates the following gas processing plants in South Texas:
• Shilling, 0.11 bcfd.
• Thompsonville, 0.33 bcfd.
• Shoup, 0.28 bcfd.
• Armstrong, 0.25 bcfd.
• Gilmore, 0.25 bcfd.
• San Martin, 0.20 bcfd.
• Delmita, 0.15 bcfd.
• Sonora, 0.12 bcfd.
Texas pipelines
Most of the operator’s natural gas, NGL, and crude oil pipelines serving South Texas and the Eagle Ford shale region also remain in commercial service, the company said.
While the Seaway crude pipeline also is maintaining shipments to most delivery points in the Houston area from its origin in Cushing, the operator said deliveries from Seaway and EPP’s crude distribution system to certain unidentified delivery points may be allocated intermittently or suspended depending on potential disruptions of electrical power to pump stations and restrictions at receipt points.
Operations remain suspended at respective EPP and Seaway marine terminals in Houston, Beaumont, Texas City, and Freeport, all in Texas, amid ongoing port closures in those areas.
