Cox Oil Offshore LLC, Dallas, cited high-pressure, high-temperature potential of interests it has expanded around Tiger Shoal oil and gas field offshore Louisiana.

The privately held company bought interests held by Freeport-McMoran Oil & Gas that include the Flatrock and Hurricane discoveries on the OCS-310 lease, which it operates. OCS-310 includes Tiger Shoal, Lighthouse Point, and other fields.

Flatrock is on South Marsh Island Block 212. Hurricane is on South Marsh Island Block 217 (OGJ Online Sept. 24, 2009).

“In addition to normal-pressured wells, Cox looks forward to further exploiting high-pressure, high-temperature wells,” the company said in an announcement of the transaction.

Cox last year acquired properties from Chevron Corp. that included 19 oil and gas fields and associated assets in federal and Louisiana state waters (OGJ Online, Apr. 18, 2016).
