Contract let for West White Rose structure

Husky Energy Inc. has let a contract for construction of the West White Rose concrete gravity structure to a general partnership of SNC-Lavalin, Dragados Canada, and Pennecon Ltd.

Husky Energy Inc. has let a contract for construction of the West White Rose concrete gravity structure to a general partnership of SNC-Lavalin, Dragados Canada, and Pennecon Ltd. (OGJ Online, May 30, 2017).

The 145-m tall structure will support a wellhead platform tied back to the SeaRose floating production, storage, and offloading vessel 350 km offshore Newfoundland and Labrador. Husky expects production to peak at 75,000 b/d of oil.

With a base diameter of 122 m, the structure will require 76,000 cu m of concrete. Construction will occur at a purpose-built dry dock in Argentia, Newf., during 2017-22.

SNC-Lavalin and Dragados Canada hold 40% interests in the partnership. Pennecon holds 20%.
