He succeeds Ian Springett, who resigned due to ill-health. The company announced in January that Springett had taken an extended leave of absence to undergo treatment.
Wood was appointed to the interim post in January. He joined Tullow in 2014 and served as vice-president for commercial and finance. Wood worked for BP PLC for 28 years, including regional chief financial officer roles in Canada and the Middle East.
