Stephen P. Roberts has joined Gastar Exploration Inc., Houston, as senior vice-president and chief operating officer.
Roberts previously served as a senior vice-president at Jones Energy Inc. where he oversaw its Anadarko and Arkoma assets. During his 19 years with Jones Energy, he was directly responsible for the drilling and completion of more than 700 horizontal wells in seven different formations.
Prior to Jones Energy, he held various positions of increasing responsibility with Marathon Oil Corp. and Samson Resources Corp.
