Owen departs Southwestern to become Rosehill Resources CFO

R. Craig Owen has joined the newly formed Rosehill Resources, Houston, as chief financial officer effective June 26.

R. Craig Owen has joined the newly formed Rosehill Resources, Houston, as chief financial officer effective June 26.

Owen, who has more than 24 years of experience in the energy industry, most recently served as senior vice-president and chief financial officer of Southwestern Energy Co. beginning in October 2012. From 2008 to 2012, he was Southwestern’s controller and chief accounting officer.

Prior to Southwestern, Owen served as controller, operations accounting, at Anadarko Petroleum Corp. and held various managerial and financial positions at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, ARCO Pipe Line Co., and Hilcorp Energy Co.

Rosehill was created this year through the merger of Tema Oil and Gas Co. and KLR Energy Acquisition Corp. (OGJ Online, Dec. 20, 2016). JA Townsend, formerly Tema’s president, serves as Rosehill’s president and chief executive officer. TJ Thom, who was interim chief financial officer during the merger process, will continue to assist Rosehill as a consultant through a transition period.
