Oleg Karpushin has been appointed chief operating officer at JSC KMG NC. He will have executive responsibility for upstream interests and will report to Sauat Mynbayev, chief executive officer of KazMunaiGas.
Karpushin worked for Schlumberger Ltd. and Sakhalin Energy Investment Co. Ltd. before moving to Nigeria in 2010 with Royal Dutch Shell PLC. In 2013, he became chief executive officer of Salym Petroleum Development.
In 2015, he moved to The Hague with Shell and later that year joined Novatek in Russia.
