Brett joins Millennial Energy Partners as VP, general counsel

Clay Brett has joined Millennial Energy Partners LLC, Houston, as its vice-president and general counsel.

Prior to Millennial, Brett was one of the first attorneys in Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP’s Houston office, where he focused on buyouts and investments in the oil and gas industry, primarily representing private equity sponsors, banks, portfolio companies, and management teams.

He began his career in the corporate and securities group at Bracewell & Giuliani LLP, representing Chesapeake Energy Corp., Apache Corp., Kinder Morgan Inc., ConocoPhillips, and numerous investment banks.

Millennial Energy Partners was established in 2013. Its assets are concentrated in the STACK play in the Anadarko basin of Oklahoma, the Eagle Ford shale in South Texas, the Bakken-Three Forks shale in North Dakota, and the Haynesville-Cotton Valley complex in North Louisiana. The firm’s investment strategy currently is focused on opportunities in the Anadarko and Permian basins.
