BP PLC subsidiary BP Oil Espana SAU has let a contract to Amec Foster Wheeler PLC to provide services for a project to modernize a major unit at its 104,500-b/d refinery in Castellon, Spain.

Amec Foster Wheeler will deliver engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPCM) for the revamp of the refinery’s 44,745-b/d vacuum distillation unit to help increase the quality and value of production yields, the service company said.

To complete the project, Amec Foster Wheeler said it will employ its More-4-Less approach, which alongside modularization and lean engineering, focuses on reducing costs, removing complexity, and maximizing efficiency.

The service provider disclosed neither a value of the EPCM contract nor a timeframe for the proposed revamp.
