Thailand’s PTTEP has contracted Noble Corp.’s Tom Prosser jack up drilling rig for use on a production well in Montara oil field in the Timor Sea.
The rig, built in 2014, has been stacked in the UAE since October 2016 following its work for the Quadrant Energy group offshore Western Australia.
PTTEP has contracted the rig for 2 months beginning in September.
Montara field lies 700 km west of Darwin and 200 km southwest of Bayu Undan field.
